The mission of The Red Barn is to promote and provide equine assisted activities using rescue horses, when possible, to individuals of all abilities and circumstances, especially children.
Located on the banks of the Little Cahaba River, The Red Barn is a 501(c)3 organization that offers children and adults the opportunity to work with and learn to ride horses. The Red Barn can easily accommodate those with physical, cognitive, or emotional disabilities. We welcome individuals, home school groups, and referrals from other nonprofit agencies. Our programs include therapeutic riding, equine assisted therapy, and related academic enrichment and recreational activities.
Trust in the Lord and do good, dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4
Rick Williams Memorial Cross
Rick Williams (1958 – 2013) was an extraordinary friend to Jeff Morrison – always there when needed, always willing to listen, always willing to serve others. In his memory, Jeff is constructing a peaceful area around the cross where students at the barn can come for quiet reflection, as well as see a visible reminder of what it means to have and be a good friend. The cross is constructed of cedar to symbolize eternal life and surrounded by rocks to symbolize his modesty and humility. Nestled at the edge of the woods by the pond, it is a fitting tribute to a man whose impact was always visible, even if he wasn’t out in the forefront.
Will you please make a donation to The Red Barn in memory of Rick’s legacy of friendship and faith? All donations made by year end will be listed on the plaque and recognized at the dedication ceremony.
